Each year, organizations and individuals across the world bring attention to the HIV epidemic, endeavor to increase HIV awareness and knowledge, speak out against HIV stigma, and call for an increased response to move toward Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America.
World AIDS Day was first observed in 1988. This year, the Pitt Men’s Study will observe World AIDS Day virtually, through on-line presentations and activities. In preparation, we’re asking the community to submit names of those who have passed, in remembrance, as part of the traditional Circle of Love.
You can submit names using the form below. Please remember to include only the person’s last initial (for reasons of confidentiality). You can also add a short description of, or tribute to, the person you’d like to commemorate. All submissions are subject to editing by the Pitt Men’s Study staff.
Once the name is submitted, we’ll add it here on the World AIDS Day page until the names can be added to the virtual event on December 1st. The deadline for submissions at our virtual event is November 1st, 2020. These names may be read aloud at the event by members of our Community Advisory Board.
